Sharing My Sister's Photos

After searching online for bookshelves I checked my email right away because I was so eager to see the photos that my sister sent me. It was my cousins’s debut last night. Well, I was happy to see that my sister gained some weight because she was skinny last year especially while she was preparing for the Nursing Board Exam. Now that it’s behind her she can take things easy. She now works at a hospital in Davao City and I can’t wait for her to come here in the US.

Almost Time To Gobble

If our plan will push through we will be spending our Thanksgiving Day in New York which means I'm going to miss my SIL's Thanksgiving recipes. She's an excellent host and an even better cook. But there will be lots of Thanksgiving celebrations to come so I have time to make up for my absence. I'm sure they will miss us too.

By the way, the pictures above were taken at the Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, RI. I have mentioned in my other posts that their grounds are big as shown in the second picture. It also faces the Narragansett Bay.

I Love Butterflies

Butterflies are so fragile yet so beautiful. Everytime I see them it reminds me how unique are all God's creations. These butterflies were on exhibit at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. If you take a picture of something that is inside a glass or framed by a glass it's always best to turn off your camera flash to avoid reflections.

Anyways, today we're invited to an anniversary party and I think I'll need the fat burner that my friend recommended to me. I know there will be lots of foods and it's my weakness. Can't say no to them.

From The Land Of Scammers

We don’t get as many annoying callers now than we did before. There’s this mortgage company who kept on calling us about a delinquent mortgage when at that time we were renting an apartment. Out of courtesy we called them that they got the wrong number and they better do a research on the borrower’s phone number so he/she will know that his/her property will soon be foreclosed. And what happened? They still kept on calling us. Enraged, I told them to go ahead and foreclose the property if only to show them that I’m not the owner and at that point I didn’t care anymore. They called me several times in a day to the point that I felt like I was harassed already. So I called them again and I told them that I’m going to report their company to the Attorney General if they will continue on calling us and they stopped.

But the real winner was this call I got maybe from Mars. The person has an accent and she told me that because I’m a good taxpayer, SSS will give me $500. Yeah, right. I told her that if she’s going to ask for any bank information I don’t have any and she said bye. See? I tried to look up the phone number at AnnoyingCallers and I think they’re from the land of scammers. So people be very careful. You can always check those annoying callers at annoyingcallers.com.

Watch Out All Bloggers

I have read an article about how employers and tenants go online and search for an applicants name. Now, this should give us bloggers a red flag - meaning that we should be careful what we write because it can affect how we present ourselves. If you're always mad in your post or whining I'm sure employers can formulate an idea of what kind of person you are. I'm not saying that you should always praise yourself but if you think you'll look bad with what you write then just keep it to yourself. Who knows one day you'll look for a job or you want to move to a new apartment. It's really easy now for employers to do an employment screening even before they call you for an interview.

Getting Another Closer Look

Last week we visited the 12 beautiful gardens at the Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley, MA. It’s indeed a gardener’s paradise. With so many beautiful flowers I was confused where to start taking photos. According to an article of the AAA September Newsletter, Elm Bank has more than 180 acres of woodlands, fields, gardens and old estates property and is surrounded on three sides by the Charles River. The place is very quiet and very beautiful.
