Philippines Is Still The Texting Capital Of The World

I have mixed feelings about this title. But I'd like to dwell on the positive side so let me point out here that SMS chain letters had a great influence in ousting Philippine President Joseph Estrada in 2001 according to reports. The Philippines has a record of 50 million cellphone users and I was wondering how many of them are using Nokia unlocked phones. If the Philippines wants to be at par with our greatest competitor that is China (when it comes to texting) they better switch now to an unlocked phone from Nokia.

A Family Movie Fan

I'm a fan of movies that tackle family relationships like All Roads Lead Home The Movie. I despise movies that present sex, violence and gore as themes. Unfortunately these kind of movies sell which is very disappointing. I have noticed that some movies have warnings that there can be mild violence involved but the way I see it you can't qualify violence. This is the reason why I always make sure that my dear son only watches movies that are family-oriented and does not contain any media violence which are blatantly promoted in most movies nowadays.

Viva Las Vegas

Las Vegas Nevada was one of our choice destinations last summer. We ended up going to Connecticut and stayed there for a week. We had fun in Connecticut but I was really hoping that our budget could accommodate the three of us for Las Vegas but since our budget wasn't enough we opted for a closer place where we could just drive.

DH has been to Las Vegas a few times in the past and he hopes he can bring us there next summer. We'll definitely watch a David Copperfield show. We all enjoy watching magic and illusions and I'm sure we'll have a grand time not to mention that we want to stay at the MGM Grand. A Genuine Person

My husband and I met with our son's teacher this morning for our scheduled parent-teacher conference. It was from 8:15-8:30. We're both looking forward to it because we're so eager to know how our son is performing in school. We already have a copy of his report card but it's really different when you get to hear from the teacher in person.

As expected he is doing excellent in some areas but there are a few things that he needs to work on (like how to stop being a chatterbox, LOL). Overall, I'm happy and pleased with how my son is doing in school.

But of all the nice things that I heard from my son's teacher what really touched me most was when she said that my son has "a genuine heart". He's the first one to share his snacks whenever a classmate forgets to bring one and he's always ready to help. I wasn't surprised at all when Mrs. F (the teacher) told me about it because I know how giving my son is. He's very selfless and as a matter of fact he's keeping all his toys and old, gently used clothes so he can bring them to the Philippines and give them out to kids.
