In Massachusetts it is a crime to operate a motor vehicle that does not have a certain required amount of insurance. See Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 90 Section 34J.

The state minimums for Massachusetts drivers are as follows:

Part Two: Personal injury protection―Pays up to $8,000 to you, passengers, pedestrians, or anyone you allow to drive your vehicle
Part Three: Bodily injury caused by an uninsured auto―Minimum $20,000 per person, $40,000 peraccident
Part Four: Damage to someone else’s property―Minimum $5,000 for property

There are lots of auto insurance companies to choose from and you always have to think of value. Cheap doesn't mean it's the best and the best doesn't have to be expensive. Always consider what you can afford. For the most comprehensive auto insurance quote, check out insurancequotesus.com.
