This summer marks my second term in school. I'm in the process of taking up prerequisites courses for the nursing program. I have taken some of these prereqs already when I was in college 12 years ago but it's been a while I decided to take them again. I think schools here in the States will require students to take English courses especially when you took them in a different country. I have no problem with this and as a matter of fact, I'm learning new things. English courses are not fun especially Comp 1 and 2. It's all about reading and writing. I took Comp 1 last spring and now I'm taking up Comp 2. In a span of two weeks, I've read five stories (not to mention writing my reactions) namely; S & P by John Updike, Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin, A Clean Well-Lighted Place by Ernest Hemingway, To Build A Fire by Jack London, and Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. There are more stories to read and I'll share them here once I've read them. The summer term goes by so fast and since it's a short term I get loads of homework to do. But I have to do what I need to do. It's not only a matter of getting things done but getting good grades as well. My goal is to have grades not lower than A- and so far I have accomplished it. Let's see what this summer term brings. It's really tough but my goal is what keeps me on top of my studies.
