Fort Hood incident was unfortunate

I'm sure by now we have already heard about what happened in Fort Hood, Texas. But until now I'm still confused how the alleged shooter planned out what he did without being noticed. He was communicating with a radical imam overseas who encouraged Muslims all over the world to kill U.S. troops in Iraq. This should have provided authorities a hint to watch out for the alleged shooter but since the exchanged messages between these two people did not contain any threat of terrorism no further actions were taken by the terrorism task force. By the way, this imam had contact with 2 of the Sept. 11 hijackers. Talking about clues.

The alleged shooter will be tried in a military court. The most serious charge in military court is premeditated murder, which carries the death penalty. It will really be interesting to find out what his lawyers are going to come up. Does the alleged shooter have a mental condition or was everything premeditated? I'll keep my opinion to myself but someone is liable for those lives that were lost and for those who were injured.
