How to make your car alarm effective

I've learned today that in order for a car alarm to be effective the control unit must be invisible and undetectable, the siren must be hidden and inaccessible, all wiring should be concealed in split loom, the alarm should have it's own backup battery, and the alarm must be able to detect all types of intrusion. It was a very wise decision for my DH to hire a professional because there's no way he could have done the alarm to work by himself. The split loom wiring accessory is a corrugated tube that is extruded in black polypropylene. It is used for routing and protecting wire bundles and single cables from abrasion. They are available in six diameters.

I'm learning new things everyday. I didn't have any idea what a split loom was until we needed to have our car alarm checked.
