ATV racing?

There's a store near my house that sells ATVs. Those things don't really attract me but my son told me once that he'd love to own one someday. I pretended I didn't hear him because I know of some accidents caused by ATVs. Safety for me is a priority. They say that ATV brands like Honda and Yamaha are safe but still that doesn't convince me. What if my son gets interested in ATV racing? I better cut it now before his interest in ATV gets serious.
